Providing a bit of variety, for this week's non-Monday Music Monday I wanted to highlight this superb mix from my talented other half, NinthDelta and his partner in crime, Eone6. Compiled earlier this year, the guys slaved over the decks for hours on end putting together a lovely little mix for UK Bass Music. Featuring the likes of Robert Hood, Hodge and my personal favourite from the Dub Techno scene, Rhythm & Sound. Recommended earlier today by a friend with impeccable music taste this one got me choked.  I've already listened several times and it seems like each time i do, my brain and heart gives it a different meaning, like re-visiting a dream and trying to interpret it depending on what mood you're in. First time it was happy,  like a soundtrack to a new beginning in life. The second listen was slightly sad as if letting go of an old way of life to move on. Both feeling states seemingly representing the same situation yet from different viewpoints but no matter what the emotion I can't deny the power behind this beautiful track. Wait for the strings. Anthony Naples - Busy Signal  Over the past couple of years I've succumbed to the hypnotic 4x4 kick drum more and more, this tune tickles all my aural fancies by also incorporating heavenly pads that make me want to dance around a field, unleashing my inner, not-so-hidden hippy. alright alright I know it's not 'technically' Monday but the day after a bank holiday is definitely treated as a Monday in the UK - anyone arriving at the office to 309724 emails today will know what I mean. This little beauty was introduced to me last year, it's a lovely track with lots of the plinky-plonky noises that I am ever-so predictably drawn to. It's been my ringtone ever since so, inevitably, every time I hear it I look for my phone. Still love it though! That's saying something. Nice swing to the percussion, lovely plinky plonk synth from Danny Scrilla. Keep your eyes on him. he's about to drop an EP with Kromestar and has releases on Cosmic Bridge, Civil Music + more. He is an incredibly talented musician/producer, this was one of the first tracks I heard from him which made my ears prick up and jump at the chance of working with him. The brushed percussion get me going straight away, what a tune!  The lyrics could be mistaken for those of a madwoman but I think it's a beautiful explanation of the imbalance of human emotions and a representation of embracing them, confusion and love, insecurity and peace. Admittedly I don't know much about Bjork but what I have found has been fascinating <3   

I discovered John Talabot just last year and am in love with any mix I find of his, in particular this one for Melt 2014 . He's a Producer/DJ from Spain and heads up the label 'Hivern Discs' which has just released this beautiful piece of music from producer 'Round'. Round is from Denmark and as far as I can see this is his first release.  This track is Massively uplifting, I'm in love. Plus it comes on this beautiful white vinyl Enjoy! video link below

Love this track so much. Such warm bass accompanied by beautiful vocals from Erykah Badu & Stephen Marley. A real zoner. Big up Mala every time - the consistent simplicity yet effectiveness of his production is absolutely sublime. I stumbled across this track back in 2011 when a friend shared it on facebook. I'm not a smoker but something about the thumbnail made me click play. I'd never heard of 'The Four Owls' or the label High Focus at that point, and I don't think I was alone, they were just starting to become popular and this track/video definitely helped towards their well deserved growth in popularity.  The lyrics immediately caught my attention, discussing conscious awareness, the power of positivity and thought and the balance of karma. I also have a soft spot for the Mayan culture and the limited understanding we have of their teachings so the mentions of them throughout struck a chord with me. I'm chuffed to have watched the growth of Fliptrix and his Brighton based label, High Focus, since then, with notable releases from majorly talented individuals such as Jam Baxter, Edward Scissortongue, Leaf Dog and more recently Onoe Caponoe plus many others. 3 years on The...

You may call me biased but I loved this track before knowing Flowdan and Killa P let alone working with them - this was one of my favourite tracks of that year, 2007, in fact, I'm pretty sure it was doing the rounds before that - and this was definitely one of those crowning moments for me, it drew me into the subbass realms of Dubstep even further, I was a newbie around 2006/07 and this along with a couple of Kiss 100 sets I still have ripped to CD from Hatcha and Crazy D well and truly solidified my new found addiction. By the way, if you're listening to this through laptop speakers, don't. That's silly. You need bass.  Life is nuts. I loved this track, years later I'm working with Killa P, and now I'm Flowdan's manager. Plus I was at the location of this video shoot a couple of weeks ago. If someone had have told me this would have been happening back then when I still had a sub in my Navy Peugeot 206 I would definitely have not believed them....

Swedish duo L-Wiz are behind this absolute beauty of a Music Monday. Released on Caspa's label Dub Police in 2008 - this track was rightfully played at pretty much every Dubstep event I attended, nice Reggae influenced bounce to it, beautiful melody from the saxophone which easily helps your mind drift away on top of more than enough bassweight to make you screw up your face (a welcome side effect when stood in front of a seriously bassy sound system) enjoy x

Released in 2006, this track was made by Danish producer, Anders Trentemøller and still sounds fresh. I'm a fan of 'plinky plonky' noises so much so that this was my phone ringtone for about 12 months and I'm still not bored of it. Enjoy x  

Some Mount Kimbie for your Musical Monday ears.  This track was released in 2010 on Scuba's label, Hot Flush  Sultry R&B type vibes and that beautiful bass make me weak at the knees - These guys sure know what they're doing on the buttons and no doubt will feature again in #MusicMondays <3 

Addicted. Stray - Since You've Been Gone found it's way into my brain and has never left, the video is beautiful, the track, perfect. Stray is normally known to produce Drum & Bass either under his own name or 'Ivy Lab' which is a collective made up of himself, Sabre & Halogenix. 'Since You've Been Gone' is Dilla-esque Hip Hop track featured on a free mixtape he gave away this month via his Soundcloud.
