Importance of human connection

Each day we connect with others, a brief smile, a glance, a full-blown conversation and everything in between; each of these moments are incredibly important to our life-experience and often overlooked.  Human connection is magical.  Human energy exchange through any of the senses can and does so often reflect to us the parts of us we love, or not. Every single person and every individual situation is a reflection of who we are at that current second... either use it as a mirror, disconnect and allow it to be the tool it is meant to be, a growth awareness reflection.. or, subscribe to the emotion it drums up in us, be a victim, either to the 'negative' or the 'positive'. You choose. You ALWAYS choose.

The journey continues...

For most of my adult life, at least as long as I can remember I've had this strong attraction to the Incan ruins of Machu Picchu high up in the mountains in Cusco, Peru, South America. I didn't know anything about it apart from seeing beautiful images and developed a  knowing that one day I would love to experience it. It's been on my Google doc-based bucket list for quite some time now. We have these dreams, these wishes that you say 'one day' about, don't we? Then life kinda swirls us up into the routine that our Western culture programs into us and we either forget about these 'dreams' or we keep them in the 'one day' pile stuck behind our mounds of distractive escapism and binge-filled weekends and I have become so conscious over the years of not wanting to stagnate, you know, I'm not saying we can't enjoy those routines, the comfort they provide has a lot of use, especially in certain periods of life but I just can't help th...

Feeling Lost...

Image
Lost. That's the exact, to the point description of how I've been feeling for the past 12 months, void of passion, lacking direction and I have generally become a stranger to myself. A few years back I would have been described as 'incredibly driven', an individual who knew what she wanted and would work hard to obtain whatever goals I had placed on my to do list. I knew where I was going and even though I didn't know exactly how to get there I was comfortably confident that the path would open up before me should I work hard enough in right areas and remain focused just as it always did. I was .  Even just using the word 'was', the past tense, hurts my heart a bit because it's a reminder that I am no longer that way. Not for now at least.  The left-sided brain of mine tells me that this simply will not and cannot continue forever, that it's a mere 'transition stage', I'm growing, I've turned 30, I'm developing. The r...

Set your priorities right, because if you chase two rabbits you will lose them both

Image
I've always been one to keep myself busy and throw myself into projects, but recently, as I'm growing older and more experienced, I realise that it's perhaps best to focus in fewer directions and achieve more than spread yourself too thinly therefore not nurturing any of them as much as they deserve. Synchronicity Records and it's releases have been a passion of mine for a few years now but has suffered  from lack of attention recently due to lack of time, my time, so I have decided that it's best to take a hiatus from releasing the music I love in order to focus on other projects I'm handling currently. I'd like to think that this is definitely not the end, more a readjustment of priorities until such time occurs where I can give it, and the associated artists the love they deserve.  Up until now it has been an absolute pleasure to be entrusted with such talented individuals' art, and I cannot wait for the day when I can dedicate myself once...

Who am I?

We are not onlookers peering into the unified field of separate, objective reality...

Image
We are not onlookers peering into the unified field of separate, objective reality - we are the unified field. We can reach beyond the physical body and extend the influence of intelligence. Every thought you are thinking creates a wave in the unified field. It ripples through all the layers of intellect, mind, senses, and matter, spreading out in wider and wider circles. You are like a light radiating not photons but consciousness. As they radiate, your thoughts have an effect on everything. Your relationship to life is the same as that of one cell to your whole body. One cell can talk to your whole body. One cell can influence your whole body. You can talk to the whole of life - influence the whole of life. The whole of life is as alive as we are. The distinction between 'in here' and 'out there' is a false one - as if the heart disregarded the skin because it was not on the inside. Deepak Chopra

Day dreamers: The Power of Choice

Image
It saddens me sometimes to the point of tears to know so many people who live a life of limitations when they don't have to. If only they were to realise that they are in control. Not their past, not their present, not their lack of money, not their upbringing, not their current lack of knowledge, not their current position. Just their self belief. When I'm in the presence of someone who gets that 'penny drop' moment, that epiphany.. that understanding that helps them realise, that Butterfly-out-of-a-Chrysalis moment when they finally realise this... wow. When they realise that they have the choice  to transcend the limitations held only i n their mind and finally come to the realisation that there are no boundaries, just those they impose on themselves.. that, that is one of the most special moments I have ever witnessed.

Ever feel lonely even though you're surrounded by people?

Image
Ever feel lonely even though you're surrounded by people?  It seems that on fairly regular occasions I go through what I call a 'transition' stage, that is, a time in life where things, people, situations and circumstances seem to drop away from my life, seemingly all around the same time as if I'm shedding a skin. Then follows a period of feeling slightly lost, not knowing what the next phase will bring, some down days, some up.  When I was younger and new to this process it was certainly more turbulent, less comfortable, more scary. Yet as I grow older and experience it again it definitely begins to feel more comfortable because well, now I know, it always works out well in the end. It's sad to say goodbye to things and people which were once your life. I've also learned that mostly, you're saying goodbye to the old you, the person you sometimes still try desperately to relate to, the character who really, no longer exists. To hold onto that w...

Harvard study proves effectiveness of Meditation

Image
I'm absolutely thrilled at this news.  Harvard proves the positive effects of Meditation by studying MR (magnetic resonance) images of the brain's of participants of students taking part in a 8 week 'Mindful Meditation' programme.  Images were taken 2 weeks before and after the programme and showed significant increase in 'gray-matter density in the hippocampus, known to be important for learning and memory, and in structures associated with self-awareness, compassion and introspection.'  For such a highly regarded institute to publish a paper on what was previously classed as 'pseudoscience' (pseu·do·sci·ence (so͞o′dō-sī′əns) n. A theory, methodology, or practice that is considered to be without scientific foundation.) this is fantastic news! Proof that a simple daily exercise which involves just breathing and clearing your mind can improve the effectiveness and health of your brain! Next, hopefully, we'll start to see proof on what ...

Giving Valentine's a chance

Image
I'm guilty of expressing views against Valentine's day, labelling it with the usual 'Hallmark day' accusations and such. Truth is, any day, holiday, reason to celebrate love is a beautiful thing, and whether you're in a relationship or not, it's a glorious feeling being surrounded by the positive energy of people loving oneanother. I take back my bitter scowls and fully embrace the loveliness of it all, how wonderful. Happy Valentine's day, beautiful people ✌💗💞💜

How your chosen environment changes you

Image
Interesting words! I once heard that by looking at the 5 people you spend the most time with you'll realise your own personality, as you carry major traits similar to them. Interestingly, if you consciously change some/all of those 5 people you will adjust accordingly. Be aware of who you spend your time with! This made me think about day to day activities and also career/job. Perhaps if you are wanting to develop a certain skill/skillset you could choose the environment most likely to contain people with these skills already, therefore spending time with them will rub off on you. I'm looking for a part time job at the moment but what role I want to do just hasn't come to me, perhaps by looking at it using the above theory will help me decide. Interesting!
